Daymon McClure, age 62 of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at his residence.
Daymon was born on January 11, 1958 in Gordon County, GA to Jean Bennett McClure and the late William Don McClure. In addition to his father, Daymon was also preceded in death by: a brother, Ricky McClure; and sister, Donna Boswell. Daymon was a graduate of Calhoun High School Class of 1975. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Plainville Masonic Lodge, and the Echota Vann Shiners Club. Daymon was employed as a truck driver for 40 years and has been employed by Mohawk for the last 5 years. Daymon loved to hang out with his friends and family, and enjoyed his mother’s cooking, especially her homemade biscuits.
Daymon is survived by: his mother, Jean Bennett McClure: his wife of 28 years, Martha Silver McClure; two daughters, Tishanna McClure of Calhoun, GA and Danielle Fisher and her husband Caleb of Cartersville, GA; son, Bryan C. Holland and his wife Victoria of Gainesville, GA; sister, Jonah Campbell of Sugar Valley; eight grandchildren, Rand DeFoor, Lenora Fisher, Lillian Fisher, Drake Collum, Anna Collum, Bryce Holland, Brock Holland, and Chamilla Alsley; and two great-grandchildren, LouElla Collum and Mabrey Collum.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 14th at 2 PM at Fain Cemetery with Reverend Lamar Long officiating.
Pallbearers serving are: Brock Holland, Caleb Fisher, Dewayne Bennett, Dale Bennett, John W. Campbell, Robert L. Campbell, and William Boswell. Honorary Pallbearers are: Phillip McDaniel, James Hopper, David McClure, Lewis “LouLou” Stanley, Ranel Young and Bryan Holland.
Due to the ongoing national health crisis, face coverings must be properly worn by all those who plan to attend. Social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times while attending the visitation and service.
