Tuesday, January 27, 2009 Mr. David Dickey age 50 of 145 Sabrina Lane N.E., Calhoun, died Monday evening January 26th. at Gordon hospital following an attack suffered a few minutes earlier. David was born in Bibb County, Ga. on November 26, 1958 a son of the late Deryll Abbott Dickey and Dorothy Anna Leah Knight Dickey. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was employed by Strata Industries. Survivors include his wife Wendy Kay Smith Dickey of Calhoun, one son; Shane Kurtis Dickey of Calhoun, two daughters; Catherine Ann Spruill of Calhoun and Kellie Elizabeth Spruill of Clearwater, Florida, one brother; Jack Dickey and his wife Becky of Rome, three sisters; Debbie Barlow and her husband Terry of Calhoun, Dionne Lowry of Calhoun, and Denise Wilson also of Calhoun, two grandchildren; Drew Hamilton and Trever Adams along with several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday January 29th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Oesterle and Terry Barlow officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley , Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 112 of Dalton. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce and Joe (work friends). The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 Until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening.
