Darrell Carney, age 67 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Darrell was born on July 31, 1945 in Gordon County. He was the son of the late Bradford Carney and Bonnie Bunch Carney. He was a member of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include: two sons: Brandon Carney of Calhoun, and Kyle Carney and his wife Cynthia of Cartersville; two brothers: Terry Carney and his wife Glenda, and Mac Carney and his wife Jean all of Calhoun; special grandson, Cash Quinn; special nephew, Brady Carney; nephew, Shane and his wife Charity; and two special friends, Rhonda and Dusty.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 11th at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Ross Tipps officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Josh Holbert, Justin Clements, Roger Esters, Kevin Richman, Brian Gravely and Bo Richardson.
Honorary Pallbearers serving include: Harvey Long, Jan Greeson, Lewis W. Swanson, Ronald Parker, Rufus White and Jack Champion.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 until 9pm at the funeral home.
