Mr. Dan Alton Tomlinson, age 85 of 729 Hall Memorial Road N.W., Calhoun, died Tuesday July 8, 2008 in Gordon Hosptial following an extended illness.
Dan was born in Bartow County on May 28, 1923 son of the late Winford Franklin and Irene Chastain Tomlinson and had spent his entire life here. He was of the Assembly of God Faith, was a retired truck driver for Gordon County, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Hall Tomlinson of Calhoun, one son; Eddy Tomlinson and his wife Tamara of Calhoun, two daughers; Carolyn Dutton and her husband Jerry and Mary Ann Hall and her husband Harvey all of Calhoun, two brothers; Max Tomlinson and Lamar Tomlinson and his wife Charlotte all of Calhoun, two sisters; Glenda Poole and her husband Clinton of Armuchee and Florene Taylor of Irwin, Texas. Ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday July 10th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Timms and Rev. Terry Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Jerome, Keith and Mark Poole, Greg Taylor, Bly Jordon, Braden Morgan, Lanny, Tyler and Dustin Tomlinson.
Randy Seabolt will have charge of the music.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening.
