Cloie Mae Mixon

Cloie Mae Mixon, age 78 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at her residence. Cloie was born on July 31, 1940 in Lawrence County, Kentucky to the late Luther Hogston and Virginia Blythe Hogston. In addition to her parents, Cloie was also preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert Hogston and Buck Hogston; and one sister, Jean Wright. Cloie was an avid member of Blackwood Springs Baptist Church, where she was active with the senior citizens of the church. She was formerly employed by Country Designs. Cloie was a very caring and giving person. Cloie is survived by: her husband, Walter M. Mixon of Calhoun; three daughters, LaDonna Mixon Gray of Calhoun, Debbie Mixon of Calhoun, and Diana Mixon Drew of Florida; two brothers, Arnette “Bud” Hogston of Kentucky, and Lincus Kay Hogston of Kentucky; sister, Hazel Hogston of Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Danielle Gray of Calhoun, Kaylyn Daley of Calhoun, and Mylan Drew of Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 19th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Clyde McEntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.
