Mr. Clinton Wilburn Sharp, age 91, of Plainville, passed away early Saturday morning December 12th at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome.
Clinton was born in Floyd County October 31, 1924, son of the late James (Jim) and Almedia Wright Sharp. He was a member of the Snow Springs Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII severing in the United States Army receiving 2 Bronze Stars with Valor, he was retired from Galey- Lord Textiles after 49 years of service. Clinton was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Sharp and 6 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Loudine Cochran Sharp, two daughters, Rita Sharp and Gail Tippens and her husband Jerry. One son, Wyatt Sharp and his wife Barbara all of Plainville.
Full military graveside rites will be conducted at 3pm Sunday December 13TH at Salmon Cemetery in Floyd County with the Dalton American Legion and Chaplain Don Rich in charge.
