Thursday, November 12, 2009 Mrs. Cleo Irene Thompson Davis age 84 of Highway 225 Chatsworth, Ga. died Wednesday November 11, 2009 in the Murray Medical Center. Cleo was born in Gordon County on October 4th. 1925 daughter of the late Elijah and Lilly May Westbrook Thompson. She was retired from Coronet Carpet where she worked as a creeler and mender. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by , sister and brother-in-law; Ruth and William Tant, two nephews; Buddy Tant and Larry Tant, a niece; Diane Tant, Son-in-law; Herman Stafford along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Jack Davis of Chatsworth, a son and daughter-in-law; Richard and Vivian Davis, a daughter; Brenda Stafford, a sister-in-law; Peggy Acree of Calhoun, granddaughter; Carmen Hayes, great-grand-children; Jody and Stacey Slaughter, Alan Slaughter, Wes, Jennifer, and Regan Kerce and one great-great-grandchild; Jacob and Allie Slaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Friday November 13th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hogan and Rev. Billy Tadum officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery in Murray County. Pallbearers serving include Johnny and John Davis, Tommy Pitman, Ryan Acree, William Ford, and Larry Gilley and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:45 P.M. Friday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. today Thursday.
