Monday, May 12, 2008 Mrs.Claudia Lening Parker age 81 of 242 Mt. Vernon Drive, Calhoun, died suddenly at her residence on Sunday May 11th. 2008. Mrs. Parker was born in Gordon County on September 24, 1926 daughter of the late Harvey Lee Lening and Minnie Fair Lening who survives her. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from K-Mart. In additon to her father she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Duell Parker in 1997 and a brother Dick Lening. Survivors include her mother Minnie Fair Lening, two sons and daughters-in-law; Gary and Jayne Mealor and Alan and Paula Parker all of Calhoun, two daughters and sons-in-law; Ann and Lester Duvall and Katrina and Kevin Santori all of Calhoun, step-children; Roy Parker and his wife Susan, Judi Collins and her husband Jerry and Ricky Parker and his wife Teresa all of Calhoun and a niece; Fran Lening Hightower of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday May 13th. from the Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. Woody Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Deacons of Antioch Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Grandsons and her Sunday school class at Antioch Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Joan Egger and Kathy Nielson will have charge of the music. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday (today).
