Clara Dean Shugart

Clara Dean Shugart, age 77, Calhoun. Passed away Tuesday September 27th at her residence. Clara was born January 19, 1934 in Sugar Valley. Daughter of the late Price and Ruth Holsomback Dean. She was a member of the Calhoun First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John H. Shugart, Sr. in 2005 as well as several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, John Shugart, Jr., of Calhoun. Two daughters, Beth Lowery and her husband Jerry of Cartersville and Sharon George and her husband Raymond of Gainesville. One sister, Ellen Thomas of Smyrna. Five grandchildren, Michael George, Andrew George, Dean Lowery, Justin Shugart, and Leah Shugart also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 30th at 3pm from the Calhoun First United Methodist Church. With Dr. Brian Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Nephews serving as pallbearers. The Fellowship Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escorts. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the funeral hour at the church.
