Clara Judy Keene

Clara Judy Fowler Keene, age 77, of the Sonoraville community, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Judy was born on July 23, 1939 in Whitfield County, daughter of the late Johnny Fowler and Mossie Freeland. She was employed by Gordon County School Systems in the nutritional department for several years. Judy was a devoted member of the Sonoraville Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Lee Sosebee; two brothers, J.N. Fowler and Johnny Junior Fowler and one granddaughter, Myra Michelle Keene. She is survived by the father of her children, William “Bill” Keene of Chatsworth; children, Susan Gale Hall and her husband Jerry of Resaca, Randy Keene and his wife Debra Rose of Resaca, and David Lamar Keene of Chatsworth; brother and sister, Myrtle Fowler Davis of Pearson, Georgia and Sydney Fowler and wife Katie of Hoke’s Bluff, Alabama; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a special friend, Peggy Acree. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Sonoraville Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Skates officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp Creek Cemetery in Whitfield County. The family will receive friends Friday, April 14, 2017 from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home, and the body of Mrs. Keene will lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church preceding the service.
