Clara Holden

Mrs. Clara Holden, age 74 of Calhoun died at 11:24 AM, Monday November 16 in the Rome Specialty Hospital. Clara was born, May 22, 1935 in Centre, Alabama, daughter of the late Charlie and Ruby Hunter. She had lived in Gordon County for 38 yea,rs and had attended:the New Zion and Riverview Drive Baptist Churches. Clara is survived by her husband, Ernest Holden of Calhoun; five step chldren, Larry, Ricky, and Michael Holden, and Joanne Pitts all of Calhoun and Pat Brinson of Titusville, Florida; a special niece, Brandy Hunter of Centre, Alabama; two brothers, Mack Hunter and Marvin Hunter and a sister, Sybil Starlings all of Centre, Alabama; 12 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren. Funeral services will pe conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 18 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Fred McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Lowell McKinnon and Melissa Townsend willhave charge of music. The family will receive friends from 5:00 unil 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Sandy Hunter, Timmy, Jeff, and T.J. Holden. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 PM, Wednesday. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
