Clara Sue Parker Dover, age 88 of Calhoun, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at AdventHealth Gordon.
Clara was born on June 26, 1932 in Alabama to the late Charlie Parker and Buna Allen Parker. She was a resident of Gordon County most of her life and attended a non-denominational Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, French Stanlaw “Buck” Dover; brothers, Duell Parker, Roland Parker, and Charlie “JR” Parker; son-in-laws, Denis Prater, and Charles Kenneth Farmer.
She is survived by two daughters, Christa Mitchell and her husband Bruce, and Cherrie Farmer; two sisters, Jeanne Hobgood and her husband James, and Faye Langston; three grandchildren, Tommy Prater and his wife Abby, David Prater and his wife Ashley, and Cheri Mitchell; six great- grandchildren, Charlie Prater, Conner Prater, Casen Prater, Maverick Prater, Isabella Prater and Lily Prater.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 8th at 2 PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Denis Prater, and Reverend Gary Hibberts officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are: Jason Jarrett, Josh Nix, Eric Bailey, Nick Payne, Matthews Ruddell, and Charlie Prater. Honorary Pallbearers are: David Prater and James Hobgood.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 7th from 6 PM until 8 PM and Tuesday December 8th from 11 AM and 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Due to the ongoing national health crisis, face coverings must be properly worn by all those who plan to attend. Social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times while attending the visitation and service.
