Sunday, March 23, 2008 Mr. Charlie Leaborn Richardson age 82 of Taylors , South Carolina died today at his residence following several weeks of declining health. Charlie was born in Gordon County on Feb. 18, 1926 son of the late Frank J. Richardson and Mattie Love Richardson. He had resided in the Greenville area for a number of years, was retired from the Paper Pulp Industry, and was a veteran of WWII serving with U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother; Beatrice Richardson, brothers; James Milton, Tommy, Bo, and Henry Richardson, a grandson; Charlie Matthew Dillon Waits and two infant sisters. Survivorns include one daughter ; Charlotte Richardson and her husband Ken Stietenroth of Greenville, S.C., one son; Stephen Vaughn Richardson of Lewisburg, Tn., five sisters; Frances Ball, Susie Gray and Ruby Richardson all of Calhoun, Winnie Watkins of Rossville, Ga. and Syble Swofford of Flint Michigan, two half sisters; Margaret Cartwright of Marietta, Ga. and Anne Moore of Dalton, two sisters-in-law; Helen and Eva Richardson both of Calhoun, Two grandchildren; Adam Norris and Neely Waits, two great-grandchildren; Adam Norris II and Felicity Robinson along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 26th. from the chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jether Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackwood Springs Cemetery with military graveside rites. Pallbearers serving include Robert Watkins Jr., Keith Richardson, Jimmy Gray, Lawrence Richardson, Ronald Watkins and Bryan Coker. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Lusk, Lynn Richardson, Jack McEntyre,Frank Hall and Rex Meadows and all these gentlemen are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday Evening. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Blackwood Springs Cemetery Fund.
