Charlie McDougle, age 68 of the Union Grove Church Community, passed away Friday evening July 27th at his home.
Charlie was born May 31, 1944 in Gordon County, son of the late Joe L. McDougle and Rochelle Erwin McDougle. He was formerly employed by Fafnir Bearing before going to work with his son at Calhoun Auto Parts. Charlie had also served in the 108th Armored Division of the Georgia National Guard
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Brenda McDougle of the Union Grove Church Community, one son, Shane McDougle and his wife Cathy of Ranger, one brother, Terry McDougle and his wife Peggy of the Union Grove Church Community, one brother in law, Lewis Swanson and his wife Ann of the Dew’s Pond Community, one sister in law, Janet Swanson of Calhoun, two granddaughters, Lauren and Eva McDougle both of Ranger, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday July 30th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Len Pirkle officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include, Randall Jones, Gary Silvers, Ronnie Fox, Mark Bunch, Robert Smith, Clyde McEntyre, and Junior Baker. Employees of Calhoun Auto Parts will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 until 5pm at the funeral home.
