Charles W. Walraven, age 77, of Calhoun, passed away Friday July 4th at his residence.
Charles was born October 6, 1936 in Gordon County, son of the late Emmett F. Walraven, Sr. and Ida Brown Walraven. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Siemens Corporation in Electrical Equipment Sales. Charles was a member of the St Clement’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus as well as the Calhoun Elks Lodge #1883. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was always involved in the lives of his children.
Besides his parents his was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Walraven.
Survivors include his wife; Jeanne Walraven of Calhoun, one son; Ty Walraven and his wife Christine of Chicago, three daughters; Tamara Lynn Kushel and her husband Glenn, Leslie Pruitt and her husband Michael and Susan Fancher and her husband Christopher all of Atlanta, five grandchildren; Kody Pruitt, Olivia Kushel, Kyle Kushel, Joshua Walraven and Zachary Walraven, one sister; Kathryn Mathis and one sister in law, Kayanne Walraven also survives.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday July 8th at 10am from the St. Clement’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Shaute officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 5 until 7pm at the funeral home.
