Charles T. Skaggs

Tuesday, June 19, 2007 Mr. Charles T. Skaggs, age 46 of Calhoun died at 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 17 in Emory University Hospital following an extended illness. Charles was born, March 4, 1961 in Cedartown, a son of Mary Lou Hastings Skaggs and the late Samuel T. Skaggs. He was an alumnus of West Georgia College, and was employed by the Gordon County Schools as the Student Services Director. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. Charles is survived by his wife, Susan T. Skaggs; mother, Mary Lou Skaggs, one son, Isaac Skaggs, one daughter, Aleah Skaggs; three step-sons, Michael, Sammy, and Matthew Tomasello; one sister, Sayre Holland and her husband, Henry all of Calhoun; one half-brother, the Reverend Truman Skaggs of Gainesville, and one half-sister, Dorothy Jane Spears of Grand Prairie, Texas. The Skaggs family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 20 at Thomas Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 23 at Charles’s Home-site on the Tallapoosa River near Buchanan, Georgia. The funeral director on request will provide directions. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Mr. Charles T. Skaggs.
