Wednesday, November 07, 2007 Mr. Charles Anthony “Tony” Parker, age 56 of 102 East 2nd. Ave., Centre, Alabama, died Tuesday evening at his residence following an extended illness. Tony was born in Gordon County on November 10, 1950 son of the late Henry Parris and Runette Reed Parker. He was a mechanic and a veteran serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Victoria Roe Reed. Survivors include two daughters; Sara Beth Parker of Centre, Al., and Melinda Oswalt of North Carolina, three sons; Henry Clay Parker of North Carolina, Charles Anthony Parker Jr. of Ga, and Jeff Corey Parker of Alabama, seven brothers; Harlan Paschal Parker and his wife Linda of Calhoun, Steve Parker of Rome, Kenneth Paarker and his wife Brenda of Alabama, Alfred Parker and his wife Diane of Calhoun, Arnold Parker and his wife Joyce of Calhoun, Erwin Parker of Tennessee, and Michael Parker and his wife April of Rome, an uncle and aunt; Roy and Sara Reed and three grandchildren; Kyle Oswalt, Brandon Oswalt and Mathew Oswalt. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 10th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the Shanklin Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion of Rome. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Friday November 9th.
