Charles Richard Morrison

Charles Richard “Dickie” Morrison, age 79 of Calhoun, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his residence. Charles was born on March 9, 1933 in Tampa, FL. Son of the late Walter Clyde Morrison and Mary Belle Harper Morrison. Charles was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by; His wife, Ella Ree Jones Morrison. One son, Thomas Alan “Tommy” Morrison. One sister, Audrey Faye Morrison Wyatt. One brother, James “Jimmy” Morrison. Two sister-in-laws, Aileen Greeson and Floy Mae Wright and a brother in law, Jay Jones. Survivors include; One son, Charles Todd Morrison and his wife Lori of Hixson, TN. Two daughters; Cathy Walraven and her husband Keith of Calhoun, and Nancy Grizzard and her husband Tom of Atlanta. One brother, Edwin Morrison and his wife Brenda. One brother-in-law, Sammy Jones and his wife Betty. Two sister-in-laws; Mina Lusk and her husband Paul, and Avanelle Brock both of Calhoun. Four grandchildren; Shaelyn Morrison, Gabrielle Ree Morrison, Heath Walraven, Kaitlyn Walraven Silvers and her husband Dustin. One step-grandson, Grayson Bailey. A dear friend, James England. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00p.m. on Wednesday, April 25th from the Chapel of Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Anderson and Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Joey Lusk, Michael Wright, Terry Wright, Mitchell Gresson, Jr. and Caris Roland. Honorary Pallbearers include; Charles Kinman, James England, Jack Thornbrough, Sanford Sisson and Coy Coggins. The family will receive friends after 5p.m. on Tuesday, April 24th at the funeral home.
