Mr. Charles “Mack” Lewis, age 81 of Calhoun, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, at The Fountains, following several months of declining health. 

 Mack was born on July 5th, 1943, in Union Grove, Alabama to the late John Henry Lewis and the late Nora Bell Nelms Lewis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Mrs. Della Sue Lancaster Lewis; one sister, Dorothy “Dot” Lang (Tillman). Mack retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 11 years in the Maintenance Department. Prior to working for the GDOT, he worked for 27 years for Harbison Walker in the maintenance department. Mack could fix anything, because he “tore up everything”. He loved turkey shoots and fishing with his family and friends. His favorite pastime was to look for a good yard sale and you could often find him and Mrs. Sue enjoying a good trip to go gambling in Cherokee, North Carolina. 

 Survivors include his sister, Myra Sue Embry (late husband, Buddy) of Alabama; one brother, Will Lewis (late wife, Evelyn) of Tennessee; two sons, Wayne Lewis (Judy) and John Lewis; one grandchild, Dillon Lewis (Melanie); great-grandchildren, Dawson and Layla Lewis; step-grandchild, Dillon, Madison, and Teddy McFry; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

 A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Blackwood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Stacy Hensley officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include, Wayne Lewis, John Lewis, Dillon Lewis, Dawson Lewis, Tim Burchett and John Erwin with Larry Erwin serving as an Honorary pallbearer.

 The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 8th from 10 AM until 12 PM at the funeral home. 

 The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice, The Fountains in Cartersville, and The Fountains in Calhoun for the care and support the showed to both Mack and his family.
