Mr. Charles A. “Rocky” Hall Sr., age 79 of Calhoun died at 9:50 PM, Saturday, November 3 at Gordon Hospital following a sudden illness.
Rocky was born, September 2, 1928 in Floyd County, son of the late John and Lurie Kinsey Hall. Also, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Hall February 15, 2000 and son Charles Hall Jr. and a special brother-in-law;Cecil Byars.He was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was the former owner of “Big Rock Grocery” in Sugar Valley, Ga and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army.
Rocky is survived by two daughters; Darlene Payne of Calhoun and Anita Weems of Shannon; . and two sisters; Mary Jean Ralston and her husband J.W. and Clara Byers both of Calhoun, three grandchildren; special grandson; Brandon Silvers and a special grand-daughrter; Ericka Silvers, three great-grandchildren, Sister-in-law; Earline Hughes of Plainville and special friends; Keith Holbert and Johnny Hicks.
Funeral services will be conduced at 11:00 A.M. Monday November 5th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. J.B. Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery in Plainville.
Pallbearers serving include J.W. Ralston, Mike Byars, Jay Ralston, Brandon Silvers, Jerry Weeks and Scott Byars and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Monday.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. today (Sunday).
