Charles Franklin Parker, age 80 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his residence.

 

Charles was born on September 16, 1942 in Bartow County, GA, he was the son of the late Charles Aaron Parker and Leah Cloe Teems Parker. In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by: two sisters, Nellie Faye Parker and Janice Parker Boyd; brother, Douglas Parker; and brother-in-law, Ralph Colston. Charles loved the Lord. He was a wonderful husband, brother, and friend. He enjoyed going to old car shows with his family and friends.

 

Charles is survived by: his wife, Betty Jane Owen Parker of Calhoun, GA; son, Beau Parker of Nacogdoches, TX; sister, Joyce Colston; brother, Kenneth Parker and his wife Kathy; sisters-in-law, Deborah Parker and Judy Owen; brother-in-law, J.R. Boyd; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 12 PM until 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Autumn Lester and Austin Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions in memory of Charles be made to Adairsville Christian Church at 113 Park Street, Adairsville, GA 30103 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
