View this VideoTributeTuesday, June 03, 2008 Mr. Charles R. “Bubba” Faulkner III, age 74 of 123 Creekview Drive, Calhoun, died unexpectedly Tuesday in the Gordon Hosptial. Charles was born in Nashville, Tn. On May 6, 1934 son of the late Charles Ranson Faulkner Jr and Catherine Corcoran Faulkner. He attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and was an educator , administrator and coach for 37 years having taught at Calhoun High School, Bartow County ,Gordon County, Liberty and Murray County School Systems retiring from the Murray County School System and was later inducted into the Georgia High School Coaches Hall of Fame. He was educated at The George Peabody College of Nashville with a BA, MS, and EDS degrees. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Gail Bentley Faulkner on June 9, 1997, A brother John Richard Faulkner and an aunt Mary Osteen. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; Chuck and Taunya, Shane and Rita Faulkner all of Calhoun, one daughter and son-in-law; Leslie and Douglas Kerns of Chatsworth, Ga. one brother; Tom Faulkner; Gadsden, Alabama. And four grandchildren; Collin, Dylan and Reilly Faulkner and Alex Hadden. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 5th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Minister Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt.Pleasant United Methodist Church cemetery near Red Bud. Pallbearers serving include Steven and Kevin Faulkner, Mike and Ron Bentley, Mike Tinch, Dennis Cochran Jr., Larry Bentley and Lee Coulby and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening. Fay Pierce Bentley will have charge of the music.
