Charles J. Davis, age 71 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Charles was born on September 10, 1941 in Cook County, GA. He was the son of the late Herbert Davis and Emily Parrish Davis. Charles was a member of the Meadowdale Baptist Church and served in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Cook County High School, Valdosta State University and Candler School of Theology of Emory University. He enjoyed gardening and stamp collecting, and loved his family and his church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda M. Davis.
Survivors include: his son, Judson Davis and his wife Keeley of Bedford, VA; three daughters, Anna Tang and her husband Hinh of Cumming, GA, Clare Tate and her husband Douglas of Dallas, GA and Rebecca Davis of Savannah, GA; three brothers, Howard Davis and his wife Barbara of Waynesboro, GA, Phillip Davis and his wife Barbara of Sparks, GA and Richard Davis and his wife Valerie of Evans, GA; seven grandchildren, Nic (20), Sydney (10), Sarah (9), Mia (8), Andrew (7), Ashley (4) and Isaac (3); and his two loving dogs, Goldie and Charlene also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 19th at 11:00am at Meadowdale Baptist Church with the Reverend Stephen Pearson and Reverend Don Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Douglas Tate, Hinh Tang, Nic Tate and Dan Davis.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18th from 5:00 until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
