Charles Wayne Corbin

Charles Wayne Corbin, a beloved member of the Calhoun community, passed away on September 14, 2023, at Atrium Health-Floyd. He was born on April 18, 1949, in Floyd County, Georgia. Charles leaves behind a legacy as a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator and Truckdriver for EVANS Construction.

Known for his hard work and determination in his career, Charles spent many years honing his skills as an equipment operator and truck driver. His commitment to excellence and professionalism made him highly regarded among his colleagues and peers. Charles's strong work ethic served as an inspiration to those who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Although he excelled in his profession, Charles valued the importance of family above all else. He always found joy in spending quality time with his loved ones. His warm smile and welcoming nature created an inviting atmosphere for everyone around him. Charles had a serious side when it came to fulfilling responsibilities but remained personable and kind-hearted.

Charles will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Evelyn Haulk Brookshire Corbin. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. In addition to Evelyn, his son Gary Haulk, and sister Shirley Shaffer also precede him in death.

Charles's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his surviving family members: Harlon Haulk III (son), Janet Cross (daughter), Tammy Rhodes (daughter), Byron Rhodes (son-in-law), Carolyn Bair (sister), Joyce Holland (sister). His presence brought light into their lives, and they will treasure the fond memories they shared together.

In honoring Charles's life and celebrating the positive impact he made on everyone around him, funeral services will be held on September 19, 2023. The visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, located at 535 Red Bud Road N.E., Calhoun, GA, 30701. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Haven of Rest Memorial Park, located on 3736 Red Bud Rd NE in Calhoun, GA.

Charles Wayne Corbin's departure has left a void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, hard work, and welcoming nature have touched many lives throughout the years. His memory will forever be cherished and remembered by his beloved family and friends as they continue to keep his spirit alive.
