Charles Allen Cooper, US Army retired

Sergeant First Class Charles Allen Cooper ( US Army, retired), age 53 of Resaca, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA. Allen was born on October 20, 1967 in Walker County, GA, son of Helen Ann Hewitt Cooper and the late Charles Russell Cooper. Allen served in the United States Army for over 29 years having served in Afghanistan, Bosnia, and two tours in Iraq. He retired as a Sergeant First Class. Also, he served in the 278th, Tennessee National Guard and Company, “C” Company, 1st Battalion, 108th, Georgia National Guard (Dalton, Ga.) He enjoyed traveling, kayaking, and fishing. Allen is survived by his mother, Helen Ann Cooper; son, Bradley Cooper; brother, Scott Cooper and his wife Susan; and sister, Angie Cooper Bomar and her husband Todd, and Susan Cooper, mother of Bradley Cooper. Several nieces and nephews, Tiffany Jones, Brandon Haynes, Bryan Cooper and Tyler Cooper. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Full Military Rites. Pallbearers serving include: Bradley Cooper, Bryan Cooper, Tyler Cooper, Brandon Hayes, Drake Causby, and Scott Cooper. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
