Wednesday, September 10, 2008 Mrs. Charlcie Ann Burns age 67 of Calhoun, died Tuesday September 9th. in Gordon Hosptial . Mrs. Burns was born in Gordon County on Sept. 5, 1941 daughter of the late Phil Ray French and Ada Belle Parsons French and had spent her entire life here. She was a member of the Reeves Baptist Church and was an LPN and was formerly an employee of Calhoun Health Care Center (Formerly Cherokee Nursing Home). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; James Hollis Burns Sr on Feb. 3, 2008 and two brothers; Willard and Paul Ray French. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Penny and Phil Holcomb of Calhoun , a son and daughter-in-law; Jim and Donna Burns also of Calhoun. Two brothers; Jim French and his wife Ovalee and A.W. French and his wife Jean all of Calhoun, one sister; Betty Pass and her husband George of Calhoun four grandchildren; Trey Burns,Amber Burns, Haley and Brandon Hollingsworth and Josh Holcomb and is fiancee’ Becky, two great-grandchildren; Trenton and Hunter Hollingsworth, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday September 11th. from the Reeves Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Baker and Rev. Scott Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordon Memorial Gardens with Rev. Clinton Carver in charge of the graveside services. Pallbearers serving include Phil, Kent, Craig, Stuart, and Tony French, Russell and David Pass and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 10:15 A.M. Thursday. Ronnie Hammontree will have charge of the music. The family will receive friends frin 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday (today).
