Carrie Lois Hooker Waters

Carrie Lois Hooker Waters, age 84 of Chatsworth, GA, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Gordon Health & Rehabilitation.

Carrie was born on May 16, 1939 in Dalton, GA, daughter of the late Loranza Lee Hooker and Thelma Pearline Hooker. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James D. Waters; and one brother, Grady Lee Hooker. Prior to retirement Carrie worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was of the Baptist faith.

Carrie is survived by: her three children, Brenda Lee Fox and her husband Brent, Gary Wayne Barnett and his wife Sherry and Pamela Kaye Benson and her husband Bert; five grandchildren, Thomas Lee Hibberts, Suzanne Michelle Fox, Damon Fox, Liberty Fox and Amanda Barnett; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla Alison Irion, Kati Lee Hibberts, Kyle Lee Harrison, Caleb Barnett, Sarah Barnett, Jessica Freeman and Jenna Freeman; four great-great-grandchildren, Clifford “Ford” Irion, Iris Davis-Owens, Jayson Davis-Owens and Daisy Lynn Nolen; and one brother, and Ernest Broadrick Hooker.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Sumach Presbyterian Cemetery in Chatsworth, GA.
