Carolyn Diane Turner Glaze

Carolyn Diane Turner Glaze, age 80, of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at The Fountains in Calhoun. 

Carolyn was born on September 30, 1944, in Smyrna, GA, the daughter of the late Marcus Nelson Turner and Ollie Pruitt Turner. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Reginald “Reggie” Glaze; and five siblings, Ruby Turner, Regina Howard, Randy Turner, Mildred Westbrook, and Marcus Turner. 

Carolyn met Reggie while attending Truett McConnel College and they were married on September 18, 1965. In 1970, Carolyn and Reggie moved to Calhoun where she worked for the GA Department of Natural Resources and Fisheries Section. She also worked for WEBS radio for several years. She was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church. 

Carolyn was mostly known for her brilliant smile. She was also famous for her love of shopping and still grieved Rich’s sale to Macy’s. She was also a frequent visitor of Chicos and Reese’s, the more animal print or bling, the better. Her kids loved her fried chicken, rice, gravy and biscuits. It was the go-to meal for all family celebrations.  

Following a stroke in 2011, she lost her ability to communicate verbally but still beat the computer in scramble, as well as had the same beautiful smile. The family would like to thank the staff at The Fountains for their care over the past 3 years.  

Carolyn is survived by her three children, Ginny (Kurt) Kirby, Grant (Missy) Glaze, and Griffin (Rachel) Glaze; eleven grandchildren, Caroline, Turner, Carson (Will), Cullen, Carter (Ceara), Caitlyn, Ava, Allan, Reece, Reagan, and Roczen; three great-grandchildren, Parks, Wells, and Scarlett; and siblings, Wilma Boling, Marie Bishop, and Jan (Kayward) Davis. 

The family will receive friends at Calhoun First Baptist Church on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 1 PM until 2 PM. 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2 PM at Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. Bert Vaughn and Dr. John Barber officiating.
