Carolyn Bussey Owens

Carolyn Bussey Owens, age 80 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at her residence. Carolyn was born on September 23, 1934 in Athens, AL to the late Wilbur Bussey and Claudia Barrier Bussey. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Owens. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, H.L. Owens of Calhoun; two sons, Jimmy Owens and his wife Cathy and Chuck Owens and his wife Juanita; daughter, Gail Oliver and her husband Bailey all of Calhoun; two grandsons, Maxwell Oliver and his wife Lorrie and Micheal Owens and his wife Shawnette; granddaughter, Stacey Anderson and her husband Larry; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlcie Bobbitt of Palm Harbor, FL and Gail Ross of Deer River, MN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, August 29th at 11:00 AM in Bennett Cemetery with Reverend Ken Conner officiating. Pallbearers serving include Ray Elmore, Carlton Rogers, Maxwell Oliver, Josh Oliver, David Anderson and Michael Owens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie and Ronnie Everett, Larry Anderson, Drew Oliver, T.J. Oliver and the American Legion Auxiliary.
