Mr. Carlos Lee Brown, Sr., age 60, of Calhoun, passed away at his residence on Monday morning July 11th.

 

Mr. Brown was born on November 3, 1961, in Harlan County, Kentucky son of the late Willis Brown and Mildred Shoupe Brown. Mr. Brown was a Coal Miner for Clover Lick #3 in Harlan, Kentucky for many years and proudly served as a deputy sheriff with the Gordon County Sheriff’s office for over 7 years.

 

Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, Carlos Brown, Jr. and his wife Mindy of Crandall and Jeffery Brown of Plainville; one granddaughter, Maisie Brown; five brothers: Lewis Brown of Berea, Kentucky, Jack Brown and his wife Connie of Calhoun, Lester Brown and his wife Brenda of Cumberland, Kentucky, John Brown and his wife Marie of Inglewood, Tennessee, and David Brown and his wife Caron of Sugar Valley; Two sisters, Virginia Waycaster and her husband Carl of Calhoun and Debra Wyatt and her husband Kenneth of Calhoun also survive.

 

Mr. Brown was an avid fisherman and member of the Baptist faith. He also enjoyed frequenting yard sales for antique and unique finds.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 15th at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Hendrick will officiate. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 14th, from 5-8pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
