Carl Brown Stone

Sunday, August 27, 2006 Mr. Carl Brown Stone, age 79 of 98 Sandra Drive, Ringgold, Ga. died Saturday August 26th at the Gordon Hospital following an unexpected illness. Mr. Stone was born in Whitfield County on Oct. 15, 1926 son of the late Fred and Lillie Duvall Stone. He was a Veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in Japan and was the owner and operator of S & W. Carpet Sales in Franklin, Ky since 1971. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife; Beulah June Plott Stone, his second wife; Winnie Harkins Stone, a son ; Michael D. Stone in 2000, two brothers; Harold Stone and Farnell Waldrop, two sisters; Dimple Parker and Betty Stone. Survivors include one son; Larr C. Stone and his wife Esther of Dalton, one step-daughter; Pandora de Balthazar of Pensacola, Florida, two brothers; Ronald E. Stone and his wife Mary Frances of Dalton and Donald Stone and his wife Linda of Tilton, two sisters; Opal Carr of Calhoun and Emma Ruth Skidmore also of Calhoun. 8 grandchildren , 2 step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday August 29th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilburn Thomas, Rev. Howard Duvall officiating. Burial will following the West Hill Cemetery in Dalton with Rev. Charlie Hamm conducting the Graveside Services. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 1:00 until 5:00 p. m. and again from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday August 28th.
