Carl Pack, age 72 of Calhoun died Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2012, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Carl was born, March 26, 1939 a son of the late Jasper Pack and Lucy May Silvers Pack. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Jim Pack and a grandson Daniel Pack. He had spent most of his life in Gordon County and was a member of the Barrett Road Church of God. Carl was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. He loved horses and gardening.
Carl is survived by one daughter, Melinda Williams of Sugar Valley and five sons, Leroy of Augusta, Terry, Timmy, and Bryan Pack all of Sugar Valley, and Mitchell Pack and his wife, Mary Ann of Summerville; sisters, Betty Green, Mary Fuller, Ruby Jo Turner, and Martha Ann Silvers; brothers, Troy, Randall, and Roy Pack; grandchildren, Terry Scott Pack, Brandon Manius, Tonya Golden, Brittany Williams, Josh Pack, Jessica Pack, Britney Bates, and Brittany Pack; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Brenda S. Pack and her children, Stephanie, Felicia, and Amanda.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 27 at the Sugar Valley Church of God with the Reverend Dwaine Shadix and the Reverend Howard Duvall officiating. The “Gift of Life Singers” will have charge of music, and burial will be in the Fairview Church of God Cemetery near Oakman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 26 at the Sugar Valley Church of God. Pallbearers will be chosen from family members and family friends; they are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 pm Tuesday.
