Carey McEntire,

Carey McEntire age 57 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 in Gordon Hospital. Carey was born on March 11, 1956 in Floyd County. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McEntire, Sr. both of Calhoun. Carey was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Hiwassee Land Company and Apache Mills. He enjoyed beaver trapping, fishing and golfing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Annie McEntire and Ruthie Burks. In addition to his parents, survivors include: two sons, Josh and Tyler McEntire both of Calhoun; one sister, Amy McEntire Stocker and her husband David of Monterey, CA; and two nephews, Geoffrey and Jack Fletcher both of Monterey, CA. Memorial Services will be conducted on Thursday, July 25th at 6:30pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Brent Davis and Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Thomas Funeral Home prior to the funeral beginning at 5:30pm.
