Callie Chastain Blackstock, age 79, of Calhoun. Died Thursday evening April 8th in the Gordon Health Care Center.
Callie was born in Gordon County November 9, 1930. Daughter of the late Ambers Edgar Worley and Alice Bell Powell Worley. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sugar Valley and prior to her retirement was a Poultry Farmer. Besides her parents her husband, Glynn Hudson Blackstock in June 2000, preceded Callie in death. Along with her brother Roy E. Worley and sister, Phreba Worley.
Survivors include three sons; Kenneth Blackstock of Calhoun, Jackie Blackstock of Pensacola, Fl., and Michael Blackstock of Calhoun. Two daughters; Kathy Blackstock and Karen Hayes Martinez. Two sisters; Johnnie Kinman and Wilda Withrow all of Calhoun. Eight grandchildren; Chris Blackstock, Michelle Steward, Crystal Blackstock, Stacie Blackstock, Josh James, Jessia James, Eric Hayes and Colby Hayes. Ten great grandchildren along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday April 11th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Lamar Hand and Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with Rev. A.J. Waters in charge of graveside rites. RockBridge will have charge of the music.
Grandsons and Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday and Saturday evening from 6 until 8pm.
