C. Don Fox, age 77, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday November 21st at Gordon Health Care and is now at peace in our Father’s home.
Don was born in February 17, 1938 in Gordon County, son of the late Claude Franklin Fox and Julia Alexander Fox. He was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church where he was active in the church choir. Don was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired Captain with the Calhoun City Fire Department with more than 28 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was also Past State Champion with the Re-Curve Bow.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Fox, two sisters, Doris Morrow and Patsy Burchett.
Survivors include his wife Maria Fox, three sons, Eric Donald Fox, Bryan Fox and his wife Michelle and Steven Fox and his wife Melanie; his brother, Eddie Fox; three sister-in-laws, Anita Robb of Friendswood, TX, Maria Wheeler of Galveston, TX and Viola Sergent of Galveston, TX; two brother-in-laws, Mark Hurtado and George Martinez both of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday November 24th at 2pm from St. Clement Catholic Church with Father Joseph Shaute officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include, Mark Fox, Desmond Fox, Benny Morrow, Jeff Morrow, Tracy Fox and Jeffery Morrow. The Calhoun City Fire Department will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
