Burton "Bert" Clarence Schendel

November 15, 2010 Mr. Burton Clarence "Bert" Schendel, age 94 of the Plainville community, died Monday morning November 15, 2010 at his residence. Bert was born in Turlock, California on January 15, 1916. He was the son of the late David and Ernestma Deckwa Schendel. Bert served in the U.S. Air force during WWII. He is the last living child of ten children, was active in the Farmville Methodist Church and long time Sunday school teacher, and was an avid gardener who loved his roses. He was retired from Parafar Inc. as a warehouse manager. Survivors include; his wife Susie Guyer Schendel of Plainville and one son Joe Schendel and his wife Judy of Calhoun. Three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday November 18th at 3:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers include; William Beason, Chris Brown, Larry Hanks, Tim Hanks, Phillip Fulk, and Sammy Cochran. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:45 P.M. The family will receive friends Wednesday November 17th from 5 - 9 P.M.
