Buddy Temple, age 76 of Plainville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Buddy was born on November 7, 1939 in Bartow County to the late B.H. Temple and Eva Wilbanks Temple. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church of Jasper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother and sister, Bud Temple and Louise Rogers and an additional brother, Billy Temple, Sr.
He is survived by his wife June Kelley Temple, to whom he was married to for 48 years; two sons, Jody Temple and his wife Alethea, and Tony Temple and his wife Becky; two daughters, Lori Temple and her fiancé Mike Vowell, and Kim Kirkham and her husband Eric; aunt, Ruby Jenkins; seventeen grandchildren, Chad Temple, Jennifer Gilfoil, Cheyenne Temple, Anthony Temple, Elijah Temple, Aaron Broyles, Andrew Broyles, Branson Kirkham, Victoria Kirkham, Christopher Kirkham, Jake Knight, Bryson Knight, Christian Knight, Tiffany Vowell, Kahla Johnston, MacKenzie Temple and Josh Pickens; and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Monday, February 22nd at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend J.T. Padgett and Reverend Ray Montgomery officiating. Music will be arranged by Eric Kirkham, Kristi Smith and Wes Ardiel. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dutch Scott officiating.
Pallbearers serving will be grandsons, Jake Knight, Bryce Knight, Aaron Broyles, Andrew Broyles, Chad Temple, Cully Gilfoil, Branson Kirkham, Josh Pickens, Elijah Temple, Anthony Temple, and Christopher Kirkham. Honorary Pallbearers are nephews, members of the Gospel Assembly Church of Jasper, and Jimmy Parris.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 2 until 6 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
