Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Mr. Buddy Jones age 71 of 1013 Woodland Street, Centre, Alabama , died Tuesday evening in the Cherokee Medical Center in Centre, Al. Buddy was born in Gordon County on Feb. 17, 1938 son of the late Floyd and AlmaWilliams Jones.He had spent most of his life in Calhoun,and moved to Centre, Alabama 10 years ago. He was a fishing guide on Lake Weiss, was a member of the Resaca Lodge # 724 F&A.M and the Sequoyah Chapter of the Order Of the Eastern Star. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Sheila Roper. Survivors include his wife Mary L. Jones of Centre, Alabama , two sons; Keith F. Jones and Brian Kendal Jones both of Calhoun, three daughters; Karen Miner and her husband Bruce of Calhoun, Keena McEntyre and her husband Mark also of Calhoun and Toni D. Jones of Centre, Al., a brother; Noel Roper and his wife Brenda of Powder Springs, Ga., and a sister; Dancia Watkins of Dalton, nine grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Thursday Feb. 26th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Yoho officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Michael, Larry, and Matthew Gilbert, Richard Moore, Craig Hall and Eddie Brock and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:45 P.M. Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 tonight.
