Bryan Scott Phillips, age 37 of Calhoun passed away Saturday morning August 4th in Gordon Hospital following a sudden attack. Bryan was born in Whitfield County, September 3, 1974, son of Jerry Phillips and the late Terri Duffey. He was a 1993 graduate of Calhoun High School and a member the Echota Baptist Church but had been attending Meadowdale Baptist Church at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his mother, Terri Duffey Lipscomb, grandparents, Max and Mary Phillips and a grandfather, Felton K. Duffey. Survivors include his father, Jerry Phillips and his wife JoAnn, two sisters, Calista Avery and her husband Howell, and Shalaina Lipscomb all of Calhoun. Grandmothers, Brenda Holsomback and Bobby of Sugar Valley, Estelle Childers of Jasper, and Shelia Duffey of Calhoun. One niece, Zoey Avery as well as a number of other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Monday August 6th at 11am from the Meadowdale Baptist Church with Dr. Steven Pearson officiating Ron and Faye Bentley will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include, Joseph Phillips, James Phillips, Zack Gwin, Eric Tate, Richard Avery, and Dustin Fowler. The family will receive friends from 5 until 9pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the family for finale expenses @ 347 Switch Connector Road, SW, Calhoun, Georgia, 30701.
