Bruce Scott "Scottie" Washington

Bruce Scott Washington, known to his loved ones as "Scottie," passed away on August 28, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He was born on March 20, 1966, in Cartersville, GA, to Elaine Grace Starr Washington and Booker T. Sanders, SR.

Scottie had a fulfilling career as a welder for Valley Machine. His dedication and expertise were appreciated by his colleagues and community alike. Throughout his years in this profession, Scottie brought his skillful craftsmanship to various projects.

Outside of work, Scottie had a deep passion for fishing. He found solace and enjoyment while casting his line into the calm waters and spending peaceful hours waiting for the perfect catch. Additionally, he cherished spending quality time with his friends, creating memories that would be cherished forever. Scottie also had a love for pit bull dogs and worked as a breeder, nurturing and caring for these loyal companions.

Scottie will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and friends including: brothers, Harry C. Washington, Larry Washington, Jimmy Washington, Robert Washington, Amos Washington, Bennie Sanders, Booker T. Sanders, JR, Steve Sanders, Dennis Sanders, and Jesse Sanders; and a sister Cynthia Howie. Surviving daughters include: Amber Beck, Brittany Washington, Sherri Owens, Brionna Washington; grandchildren include, Corey Gray Jr., Correll Gray, Destinee Owens, JaBraylah Dupree, Kevari Washington.

To honor the life of Bruce Scott Washington and offer condolences to the bereaved family members and friends alike, a visitation will be held on September 5th at Thomas Funeral Home located at 535 Red Bud Road N.E., Calhoun GA 30701. The visitation will take place between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Scottie will be remembered as an individual who dedicated himself passionately to his craft while cherishing the simple pleasures of life. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his loved ones find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him.
