Bruce R. Kelley, age 63 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Hamilton Medical Center.
Bruce was born on August 19, 1953 to the late Frank Kelley and Ruby Cochran Kelley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Kelley and Morris Kelley. Bruce was the former Police Chief of Fairmount, GA for 20 years, and was the owner of BRK Auto.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Betty Herndon Kelley of Calhoun; two sons, Brandon Kelley, and Dustin Kelley; three daughters, Miranda Kelley, Jessica Howell, and Valerie Young; and ten grandchildren, Bryan Howell, Tyler Kelley, Ashley Howell, Kayleigh Kelley, Dawson Young, Chase Roberson, Kolter Kelley, Camden Cusick, Will Howell, and Parker Young.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, June 30th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Deron Henson officiating. Sally Jones will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with full police honors afforded by the Gordon County Sheriff’s Department honor guard.
Pallbearers serving will be Rodney Kelley, Mark Herndon, Kin Quinton, Johnny Weaver, Jack Bird, and Robert Paris.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening beginning at 5 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
