Bobby Wayne Posey, a beloved resident of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away on August 15, 2023, in Floyd County. He was born on December 15, 1952, in Floyd County to his parents Thomas Newton Posey and Marie Edmundson.
Bobby led a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to his family and community. He married the love of his life, Linda Bohannon Posey, and together they raised their son Chase LaDon Posey with boundless love and devotion.
Bobby's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. His surviving siblings Geraldine Martin Towe and Thomas Posey cherish the memories they shared with Bobby. Sadly, he was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Brackett; a sister-in-law, Tammy Kaye Kinsey; a step-son, Kelly Scott; and niece Angie.
Throughout his life, Bobby called Floyd and Gordon County home. It was here that he forged lasting connections and touched countless lives. After completing his education, Bobby joined the United States Air Force where he served with honor and dedication. His commitment shone brightly as he rose to the rank of Sergeant. After concluding his service, he worked for many years as a plumber and steam fitter in the North Georgia area.
An active member of the community, Bobby found solace in his faith. He held membership at Meadowdale Baptist Church while also attending Mount Calvary Baptist Church. His spiritual journey brought him immense comfort as he grew closer to God.
In addition to his immediate family members, Bobby leaves behind numerous cherished relatives. His mother-in-law Sara Mae Kinsey held a special place in his heart. Bobby's sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law were not just relatives but also treasured friends who supported him throughout life's journey. He adored his nieces Debbie, Donna, Tammy alongside many other nieces, nephews, and cousins who enriched his life with their presence.
He is survived by family members of his wife, Linda's family as well, including: sisters-in-law: Judy Tow, Sarah Kinsey; sisters-in-law and their husbands: Faye and Eddie Smith, Kathy and Jerry Pell, Sendy and David Barnett; sisters, Sherry Miller and Tina Maddux. brothers-in-law: Lamar Kinsey, Shane Kensey; brothers-in-law and their wives: James and Kathy Bohannon, Roy and Elysia Kinsey. A son, Chase Posey; a step-daughter, Melessia Sherman; grandchildren, LaDonna Hawkins, Chris Scott and Sierra Scott, Alex Lewis, Lucas Lewis; great-grandchildren Lucas Hawkins, Levi Hawkins, and Ledger Hawkins.
Bobby Wayne Posey will always be remembered as a compassionate soul who lived life to its fullest. The legacy he leaves behind is one of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Celebration of life will be conducted on Monday, August 28th at 2PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. The family will receieve friends from 1 PM until the funeral hour.
