Bobby E. Causby

Rev. Bobby E. Causby, age 83 of Resaca, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at his residence. Bobby was born on April 26, 1936 in Floyd County, GA to the late Manuel Causby and Willie Belle Mealor Causby. In addition to his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by: his step-mother, Lou Causby Wyatt; and sisters, Mildred Jackson, Faye Nell Adams, Coleen Wilson, and two infant sisters. Bobby has been a resident of Gordon County all his life, and was a member of the Local Georgia National Guard. He was an Ordained Baptist Minister for many years, having ministered at: Damascus Baptist Church, where he was also a member, Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Oostanaula Baptist Church, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Hall Memorial Baptist Church, and Liberty Baptist Church in Ranger. Bobby is survived by: his wife, Shelba Wilbanks Causby of Resaca; son, B. Shane Causby; daughter-in-law, Keisha Hale Causby; brother, Gilbert Causby; five sisters, Delma Ray, Brenda Long, Karen Kirby and her husband Eddie, Hilda Davis, and Darlene Herndon; two grandchildren, Hanna Causby Waldroup and her husband Josh, and Austin Causby and his wife Gabby; four great-granchildren, Declan Waldroup, Dasheill Waldroup, Daytin Waldroup, and Isabella Causby. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26th from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, June 27th at 11 AM from Damascus Baptist Church with Reverend Lamar Bearden officiating. Phyllis and Jimmy Wood will have charge of music. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers serving are: Stanley Simpson, Austin Causby, Bill Price, Brock Henderson, Josh Waldroup, and Tim Roe.
