Billy Gene Smith

Billy Gene Smith, age 87 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at his residence.

Billy was born on November 14, 1934 in Hillham, TN, son of the late Walter G. Smith and Mary Carwile Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to his retirement Billy was a mathematics educator for Calhoun City Schools.

Billy is survived by: his wife, Betty Spears Smith; son, Nathan Smith and his wife Suzanne; daughter, Maresha Bagwell and her husband Johnny; and three grandchildren, Sierra Bagwell, Makenna Bagwell and Kate Phillips.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 2 PM until 4 PM at the Calhoun Church of Christ.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 4 PM at the Calhoun Church of Christ with Minister Jon Podein and Minister Frank Mills officiating.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 2 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers serving include: Bret Medders, William Smith, Jacin Bagwell, Greg Wilbanks, Duvan Brock and Chad Kelley.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Ken Rasbury, Don Hayes and Max Livingston.
