Billy Wayne Sloan,Sr.

Billy Wayne Sloan Sr., age 80 of Ringgold and formerly of Resaca died Sunday May 29th at his residence. Billy was born August 13, 1930 in Gordon County. Son of the late Elior and Velma Jo (Doss) Bowen Sloan. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife Virginia Nance Sloan of Ringgold; one son, Wayne Sloan of Shelbyville, Tn.; one daughter, Gina Silvers of Dalton; one sister, Garah Weber of McDonough, one granddaughter, Hillery Waldon of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday June 9th at 12:30 PM at the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Minister Mike Gurganus officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Chris Franklin, Bob Russell, Carter Boyd, David Cockburn, David Jones, and Dwight Bailey.
