Billy J. Pass

Billy J. Pass, age 89 of Calhoun, passed away on Saturday, September 11th at AdventHealth Gordon.

Billy was born on October 9, 1931, in Gordon County to the late Sam J. Pass and Ollie Whitfield Pass. As a younger man, Billy was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines, and worked for Troy’s Grill, before starting his career at Atlanta Gas Light Company, from which he retired in 1993. Billy was an avid pilot and enjoyed taking anyone up. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Helen Strickland and her husband Max.

He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Pass and her husband Kim Thieme; two grandchildren, Cory Pass, and Toy Thieme; three great-grandchildren, Caylon Pass, Jackson Hollander, and Preston Bryant; nephew, Ronald Strickland; niece, Marsha Talley and her husband Randall; a special great-nephew, Shane Strickland.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 15th at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Hibbert officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving are: Cory Pass, Shane Strickland, J.P. Thieme, Ross Strickland, and Greg Busby.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 14th from 6 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
