Billy Joe Brooks

Billy Joe Brooks, age 79 of Calhoun died Saturday evening April 6, 2013 in Gordon Hospital. Billy Joe was born, December 20, 1933 in Fulton County, son of the late Joel Levi Brooks and Thelma Meadors Brooks. Also, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelli Lynn Brooks on August 5, 2005. He was an auto mechanic; had served in the US Air Force; and had made his home in Gordon County since 1986. He was of the Christian faith. Billy Joe is survived by his wife, Lynda Brooks, and a son, Joe Brooks both of Calhoun; five grandsons, Will Brooks and his wife Holli, Tim Johnson, Michael Jablonowski, Jeremy Brooks, and Ryan Brooks; four great grandchildren, Eli, Chloe, and Isaac Brooks and Khylea Johnson; two brothers, Douglas and Robert Brooks both of Loganville. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Wednesday April 10th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery of Chattanooga at 2:30 PM with the Rev. Joe Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
