Bill Darnell

Bill Darnell, age 86 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday morning, March 31, 2016 at Gordon Health Care. Bill was born on January 10, 1930 in Bartow County to the late Emmett Joshua Darnell and Hattie Ruth Boswell Darnell. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Dodd’s Carpet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Regina Darnell of Calhoun; daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Rick Williams of Calhoun; brother, E.J. Darnell of Cartersville; sister, Lee Settle of Marietta; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Pearson officiating. Granddaughters, Elizabeth Williams and Olivia Williams will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens with Jerry Pass, Jackie Darnell, Billy Johnson, Chris Smith, Cole Williams, and Derrick Gunning will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
