Bettye Burch Cook

Bettye Burch Cook, age 82 of Calhoun, died Friday afternoon in Heritage Hospice of Marietta. Bettye was born September 3, 1929 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Will Henry Burch and Mary Frances Blassingame Burch. She was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church and attended Faith Worship. Prior to her retirement she was the branch manager of the Lockheed Credit Union in Calhoun. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Acle Emanuel Cook, Jr., three sisters, Willie Kate Burch Smith and her husband Luther, Henrietta Burch Brown and her husband Earl, and Jean Burch Johnson, two brothers, Ford Burch and James “Jim” Burch, and a nephew, James S. “Butch” McClurd, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Cook McMichael and her husband Darren of Bourne End, England. One sister, Marcelle Burch McClurd of Calhoun. A sister in law, Penny Burch of Calhoun. Two grandchildren, Grayson Elise McMichael and Tristan Ansley McMichael both of Bourne End, England. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday March 7th at 1pm from the Belmont Baptist Church. With Rev. Matt Futch and Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Music will be arranged by Dr. Warren Woodruff, Treva Sellers and Linda Walter. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
