Betty Williamson

Thursday, January 10, 2008 Mrs. Betty Joyce Williamson age 72 of 289 Walraven Rd., Calhoun, died Tuesday January 8th. in Gordon Hospital follow several months of declining health. Betty was born in Ariton, Alabama on September 13, 1935 daughter of the late Henry B. and Bessie Frances Johnson Berry. She had been a resident of Calhoun for the past 22 years coming here from Bradon, Fl. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Tampa, attended the University of Tampa School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nurse Degree and worked in several hospitals and Dr’s offices in the Tampa area for 25 years.. She was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church and was very active at Blackwood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Selma and Joseph Berry,and one sister; Kathleen Sanders. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Arthur Williamson, two sons; Mark B. Williamson and his wife Stephanie of Calhoun and Chris Williamson also of Calhoun, four sisters; Beatrice Witt and Mary Berry both of Tampa, Florida, Mildred Allen of Seffner, Florida and Esther Frances Whitaker of Acworth, Ga., four grandchildren; Megan Williamson of Calhoun, Kelsey Williamson of Calhoun, Jared Williamson of Calhoun and Briggs Williamson of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday January 11th from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackwood Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Chuck Williamson, Roger Serritt, Brock Baxter, Robert Oglesby, Kenneth Prather and Terry Hopper and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. Friday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening.
